Drag is a Protest Candle
You know who isn't plastered all over the news for hurting kids? Folx who do drag. Every time the far right makes an accusation it's a confession.
Drag is a Protest because it refuses to shrink, sanitize, or disappear. It’s visibility, joy, and expression pushed out into the open where it can’t be ignored. The people trying to shut it down aren’t protecting anyone, they’re reacting to something they don’t understand and can’t control.
“Why don’t drag queens read to veterans or the elderly?” Because those groups can read for themselves. And if you actually did the research, you’d see drag performers already doing charity work across this country, showing up, giving back, and building community in real ways.
We’re not backing down for people who are threatened by queer joy. That kind of fear says everything. Drag is bold, expressive, and unapologetically visible, and that’s exactly why it matters.
Drag is beautiful. Drag is courageous. Period.
